- Teaching and assessing qualification / have completed teaching and assessing supervisor training
- Diploma or degree in nursing or health related studies or equivalent experience
- Formal leadership/management training
- Research training /experience
- Physically able to perform the full range of nursing duties
- Ability to work without supervision within scope of practice and manage own workload; effective time management
- competent in venepuncture and cannulation
- Competent in CVL management including portacaths
- Must be a car driver/owner
- Significant post registration experience in appropriate clinical setting
- Can demonstrate professional autonomy and effective decision making skills when managing caseload, seeking support when appropriate
- Ability to manage clinical area/ward efficiently and effectively
- Understanding of evidence based practice
- Experience of working with patients with bleeding disorders
- Experience of audit or research within the clinical area
- Evidence of teaching
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
- Leadership experience
- Experience of supporting service development initiatives
- Able to respond to problem situations and ensure that effective interventions are put in place
- Supportive role in the successful implementation and management of a nursing change process
- Knowledge and understanding of national policy and current issues affecting speciality and it's implications for practice
- Demonstrate an ability to prioritise own workload and recognise, prioritise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations within an unpredictable working environment
- Initiate changes in practice
