Finally, there is The Little Bell, a local favourite, for nose-to-tail cooking and natural wine.The Role…We are seeking an experienced Assistant Bar Manager to join our team at Soho Farmhouse (OX7 4JS). The Bar Manager at Soho House is responsible for overseeing the beverage operation within the department, floor or property ensuring its overall success whilst also supporting the management team where needed. Main responsibilities include keeping on top of stock within the bar, providing leadership to the team which includes development and recruitment and ensuring the bar is run in an efficient manner resulting in members and guests having the best possible experience.What we are looking for in a Assistant Bar Manager...
  • Up to 1-2 years' experience in a busy cocktail bar in a senior management capacity
  • Innovator and influencer with previous experience managing F&B operations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships (internal and external)
  • Strong attention to details
  • Excellent customer service
  • Fluent in English
  • Organised and reliable
  • Ability to work and maximize relationships within a diverse team
  • Computer literacy within Opera, Micros and Adaco advantageous
  • Full understanding of local authority requirements
  • Personal license holder
  • SIA knowledge, understanding and experience
Main Duties…
  • Manage staff in all aspects including, recruiting, training, schedules, payroll, staff complaints and disciplinary procedures.
  • Assess staff performance, conduct appraisals, and strategies for improving staff performance.
  • Placing orders for inventory based on business needs and budgets.
  • Ensures menus are up-to-date and correct.
  • Report bar stock shortage- (variables) glasses & equipment
  • Responsible for Mystery Shopper Reports and staff development.
  • Actively participates as a member of the management team in decision making processes, attending required meetings, etc.
  • Ensure maximum revenue is achieved from all sales opportunities.
  • Support House Tonic program and conduct House Tonic related trainings.
Expected working hours for a Assistant Bar Manager:
  • Varying shift times across the seven days, to include working evenings, weekends, opens & closes
  • Average hours 45 hours per week
