Primary SEN Teaching Assistant – KS1 & KS2 – Knowsley / L36Milk Education is working in partnership with a group of mainstream primary schools across Knowsley who are looking to appoint Teaching Assistants to support across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.These are classroom-based roles where you’ll be working alongside the class teacher to support pupils with additional needs, including difficulties with focus, social interaction, communication, and early literacy or numeracy. You’ll play a key role in helping pupils access learning and reach their full potential within a mainstream environment.This role is ideal for someone who can build strong relationships, use their initiative, and is confident delivering academic support while understanding the unique needs of each child.Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils in KS1 or KS2 with in-class tasks and small group activities
  • Deliver tailored support in phonics, reading, writing and maths
  • Assist pupils who may need extra help with attention, routines or emotional regulation
  • Use visula aids, positive behaviour strategies, and differentiated resources to aid leanring
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to track and support pupil progress
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Previous experience supportng children aged 3-11
  • Confidence working with pupils who may have mild to moderate additonal needs (e.g., speech delayes, ADHD, ASD)
  • A calm, proactive, and approachable nature
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to be a team player
  • Someone who can commit to full-time or part-time work on a regular basis
  • Teaching Assistant Level 2 or 3 is desirable but not essential
