
HR Generalist Advisor

- Act as the first point of contact for HR advice on policies, procedures, and employment law.
- Manage and advise on employee relations issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, sickness absence, and capability cases.
- Provide ongoing coaching to line managers to strengthen people management skills.
- Deliver bite-sized training and monthly HR drop-in sessions to support staff.
- Contribute to the delivery of the Councils HR Strategy and promote CANDO values.
- Experience of delivering professional HR advice to managers and employees.
- CIPD qualification (full membership) or equivalent knowledge.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR policies, and ACAS Code of Practice.
- Experience in employee relations, inclusion and diversity, learning and development, or recruitment and resourcing.
- ICT skills, including HR and payroll systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence managers.
- Understanding of Equality and Diversity issues, particularly the Equality Act 2010.
- Ability to plan, prioritise, and make timely decisions.
- Commitment to Rugby Borough Councils CAN DO values.
