  • Validate and authorise clinical laboratory results and issue reports to service users, like clinicians. Recommend further tests or actions when necessary with referrals to senior staff or consultants as needed.
  • Interpret results of routine and complex tests accurately.
  • Communicate critical or urgent results directly to clinicians or nursing staff and refer to senior staff or consultants when required.
  • Recommend and initiate appropriate further tests to aid disease diagnosis for clinicians and service users.
  • Manage and prioritise your workload and that of any trainee or support staff within the section.
