We're recruiting a Highways Ganger to join our Highways team working on the Norwich project. This role is essential to the delivery of kerbing, paving, drainage, and patching works across the Norwich and Norfolk region, working with both Tarmac teams and sub-contractors.Key Responsibilities:
- Support the planning, programming, and delivery of highways works.
- Lead crews to complete works to high standards and in a timely, efficient manner.
- Conduct pre-start checks on all plant and equipment, including hired-in machinery.
- Work towards productivity targets while identifying cost-saving methods.
- Ensure all plant is safely stored at the end of each shift.
- Report safety observations and promote a strong Health & Safety culture.
- Participate in the Winter Maintenance Programme and be available for emergency call-outs.
- Engage in personal training plans and review sessions.
- Contribute to achieving Company and Contractual KPIs with a focus on continuous improvement.Requirements:
Essential:
- NRSWA card
- Proven experience in construction/highways maintenance
- Full UK manual driving licence (maximum 6 points)Desirable:
- Machine operator competency certificates
- Gritting driver experience
