- Serve as primary contact, managing day to day technical safety activities on the project
- Conduct site location and layout studies, and ensure risks are ALARP
- Conduct and check FRA, QRA, and fire detection and protection studies
- Conduct consequence analysis such as gas dispersion and thermal radiation studies.
- Perform gap analysis on documents to ensure compliance with customer standards, international guidelines, and specifications
- Arrange and participate in workshops such as FMEA, EHAZID, FTA, HAZID, HAZOP, HAZCON, Bow Tie Analysis, LOPA, etc
- Create or review key technical safety documents including:
- Process Safety Plans: a roadmap of all safety related activities
- Fire Risk Assessments
- Fire Protection Reports
- Building Risk Assessments
- Hazardous Area Calculations (IGEM SR/25)
- Study Terms of Reference and Reports
- Provide technical support to other disciplines, including review of specifications, data sheets, schedules, study reports, and design calculations
- Ensure alignment with applicable legislation and regulations such as: HASAWA, DSEAR, etc
- Proficiency in using tools such as PHAST and SINTEF
- Track and control manhours for technical safety activities
- Produce technical and progress reports
- Assist project management in developing the project schedule
- Support project performance by monitoring key performance indicators, such as cost and schedule performance
- Act as the primary contact for clients, ensuring their satisfaction and requirements are met
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent applicable demonstratable experience
- Relevant experience, specifically in process safety within the oil & gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore, or infrastructure sectors
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively to manage multiple projects running concurrently
- Experience in brownfield upgrades/replacement of automation and control systems projects
- Stay updated on the latest industry developments
- Understanding of commercial aspects as related to projects and operations
- Excellent communication abilities, with enthusiasm and diplomacy in interactions
- Inquisitive, well organised, and have a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work effectively in an integrated team environment, supporting colleagues and fostering trust and respect within the team
- Chartered Engineer and member of appropriate engineering institution
- TUV FS Engineer certificate or equivalent
- Knowledge of ISO 21789 and the performance of gas turbine safety assessment review
- Experience in conducting DSEAR assessments
- Gas turbine specialisation and deep understanding of compressor operation and maintenance aspects
- Experience in using AGI Safe for FRA/ QRA
