Protocol Education is assisting a well-established primary school in London to recruit a caring and committed Teaching Assistant (SEND 1:1 Support).Are you passionate about making a real difference to a young pupil’s educational journey and personal development? Our client is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide tailored 1:1 support for a Key Stage 1 pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).About the RoleProvide 1:1 support to a named KS1 pupil with specific academic, physical, medical, and intimate care needs.Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to plan, deliver, and adapt learning activities across the curriculum.Establish a supportive and nurturing relationship that promotes the pupil’s self-esteem, independence, and inclusion.Deliver daily intimate care and welfare support, including administering First Aid if trained.Contribute to pupil progress monitoring, maintain accurate records, and provide relevant feedback.Support lunchtime supervision (Monday & Tuesday), overseeing play and managing behaviour to maintain a calm and safe environment.Liaise with outside agencies as required, under the guidance of the SENDCo or class teacher.Assist with general school duties, such as setting up classrooms, preparing resources, and supervising pupils throughout the school day.Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection policies at all times.Role DetailsContract: Full-time, term-time only (39 weeks per year)Hours: Monday to Friday, approximately 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM (32.5 hours per week)Salary: £90–£100 per hourWorking year: Apporx. 39 Weeks Per YearLocation: Wood Lane, London W12 0HRWhat We’re Looking ForExperience working with young children, ideally supporting pupils with SEND.Compassionate, patient, and reliable, with a strong commitment to inclusion.Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.Good communication and teamwork skills.Willingness to engage with training and professional development.Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.BenefitsSupportive school environment with a strong focus on pupil wellbeingOpportunities for training and career developmentConvenient location within commuting distance of Shrewsbury and TelfordCompetitive hourly rate and term-time working patternIf you are motivated to support a pupil’s learning and development through compassionate, personalised assistance, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding role.All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
