A growing and forward-thinking business based in Thirsk is currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join their team on a permanent basis. On offer is a salary of up to £60,000, plus excellent benefits and the chance to help shape the future of the finance function.As a Financial Controller, you will be:
  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of the finance team, including direct reports
  • Ensuring accurate and timely delivery of management and statutory accounts
  • Leading the month-end and year-end close processes
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Driving continuous improvement of financial systems and internal controls
  • Acting as a key business partner, providing insight to non-finance teams
  • Liaising with external auditors, HMRC, and other stakeholders
  • Mentoring and developing junior members of the finance team
To be successful in this Financial Controller role, you will ideally have:
  • A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience in a similar role
  • Confident leadership skills and a collaborative, hands-on approach
  • Excellent communication abilities across all levels of a business
  • A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
