Here you’ll find departments such as Research & Development, Product Economic Control, Purchasing, Legal, HR, Finance and Total Customer Satisfaction, all enjoying modern on-site facilities like our gym, sports, and social club.PurposeWe are seeking a Supplier Quality Development (SQD) Engineer to be based at Nissan Technical Centre Europe, and to meet Nissan’s high quality expectations. Mainly European suppliers but could include other global regions.Main Tasks & ResponsibilitiesDevelop improvement plans for suppliers. Coach supplier staff and lead improvement progress to achieve new vehicle quality targets by master schedule milestonesAnalyse supplier PPM and Warranty data at plant and group level to identify causes and improvement opportunities. Based on this information, develop improvement plans with suppliers to achieve PPM and Warranty targetsLead supplier Performance Reviews, including data analysis, delivering annual review presentations to Senior Mgt. and leading the successful achievement of agreed actionsLead the Audit of supplier’s QMS and Manufacturing processes using Nissan Audit methods/tools. Auditors normally travel and work independently in suppliers (once certified)Auditing of supplier manufacturing facilities for Quality Management System (QMS) and Manufacturing Process capabilityIdentifying and Managing changes/improvements to the above achieving sustained, robust, improvements in quality of automotive partsEnsuring the supplier is motivated and implements the required improvements at the supplier’s facility within sourcing and project deadlinesAchieve Nissan’s quality related targets by use of data analysis, audits and coaching of suppliers and facilitating the use of Nissan multi department groups where needed.Skills & ExperienceThe Supplier Quality Development (SQD) Engineer should have the following skills or experience:Significant Experience of working within the automotive manufacturing environment – supplier parts process development an advantageExperience of supplier Quality Management System (QMS) auditing and improvement – preferably with audit experience related to IATF 16949Knowledge of international QMS standards – ISO/TS/IATF 16949, ISO 9001Experience of auditing or working with manufacturing processes used by the automotive industryKnowledge of supplier Quality Assurance tools and techniques – process defect reduction, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, Inspection Standards, Firewall, etc.Supplier Development experience from sourcing through development and into productionBe degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline or have relevant experience/be able to demonstrate equivalent experienceExcellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously.Clear written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate ideas effectively & adapt to differing cultural and business requirementsCompetent with PC applications including Microsoft excel, word and project.Be self-motivating, self-managing, pro-active and positive.Have an energetic personality and be flexible regarding working practice and working hours.N.B The job involves traveling on a frequent basis.
