This role involves overseeing and delivering a comprehensive resurfacing programme in response to potential additional funding, leading to an increase in the number of roads being resurfaced this year. The successful candidate will also undertake other senior highway engineering and maintenance duties.Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing and delivering the resurfacing programme, ensuring all projects are completed on time and to a high standard
  • Managing resources and coordinating with internal teams and external contractors
  • Conducting inspections and assessments to determine resurfacing needs
  • Preparing and reviewing technical reports and documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards
  • Providing expertise and guidance on highway maintenance issues
  • Liaising with stakeholders, including local authorities and the public
  • Monitoring project progress and adjusting plans as necessary to achieve project goals
Job Requirements:
  • Experience in highway engineering, with a focus on maintenance and resurfacing projects
  • Proven ability to oversee and deliver large-scale resurfacing programmes
  • Strong understanding of highway maintenance practices and regulations
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing technical documentation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

  • Relevant engineering qualifications or equivalent experience
