The role requires a practical and professional couple who can manage day-to-day operations, staff coordination, and basic property and grounds maintenance, while also stepping into a more service-focused environment when the extended family (including children) are in residence. A private, fully equipped 2-bedroom static caravan is provided on-site.Job Specification:
Household & Guest Support:
- Act as primary household contacts for the Principal and extended family
- Coordinate drivers, chefs, appointments, activities, and day-to-day schedules
- Provide local support during visits, including errands, shopping, and driving
- Light cooking when required (professional chef engaged during summer months)
- Oversee general housekeeping (cleaning, laundry, bed changing, ironing)
- Maintain the 4,000 sq ft property to a high standard throughout the year
- Manage household supplies and ensure the residence is always guest-ready
- Monitor external contractors (gardener visits monthly) and maintenance providers
- General gardening duties (mainly weeding)
- Liaise with household staff, including cleaner, gardener, and grooms
- Oversee operations of the on-site stables (no hands-on horse care required)
- Liaise with grooms and support horse welfare, maintenance and staffing matters
- Report repairs and coordinate work with appropriate service providers
- Manage petty cash and day-to-day household accounts
- Oversee small personal purchases or ad hoc financial matters for the Principal
- Prepare the property for family visits with forward planning and attention to detail
- Prior experience as a domestic couple in a formal or semi-formal private household
- One or both must be confident drivers with clean UK licences
- High levels of discretion, initiative, and reliability
- Equestrian knowledge or comfort liaising with grooms and stable staff
- Practical with strong housekeeping, light cooking, and basic DIY/maintenance skills
- Able to work independently during quiet periods and step into active hosting roles during family visits
- Comfortable working in and around children (ages 5-17)
- Fluent English essential
- Must have the right to live and work in the UK
A private, fully equipped 2-bedroom static caravan is provided on-site, with a kitchen and stable utilities.
