Our client is a specialist groundworks subcontractor based in Birmingham, known for delivering high-quality residential infrastructure projects across the Midlands. They focus on foundations, drainage, service installations, and earthworks, working closely with main contractors and developers to provide reliable, efficient groundwork solutions. With a project portfolio typically ranging from £500k to £5m, the company is committed to safety, quality, and timely delivery.ABOUT THE ROLEOur client is expanding their operations across the Midlands and is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor with proven experience in groundworks and civils. The successful candidate will assist with cost control, subcontractor valuations, procurement, and commercial reporting, working closely with project teams to help keep projects on budget and commercially viable. This role offers a great opportunity to develop your career within a growing business and make a real impact on project delivery and profitability.REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential groundworks, civils, or related construction sectors
  • Understanding of cost control, procurement, and commercial management on groundworks projects
  • Experience preparing valuations, measuring works, and managing subcontractor contracts
  • Competent in commercial software (e.g., CostX, Asta, or similar) and proficient in Excel
  • Strong communication skills with a commercial mindset and ability to work collaboratively across teams
