Science TeacherHartlepoolUp to £760 per weekAbout the Role:Connex Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a specialist secondary school in Hartlepool. The provision provides education for young people aged 11-16 with a range of special educational needs, including SEMH, autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.You will be responsible for delivering engaging science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting your teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of our students. As a SEND Teacher, you’ll work in an engaging environment supporting both academic development and social-emotional growth, helping students become respectful community members. The role requires a hardworking, resilient educator committed to making a positive impact on vulnerable children’s lives through personalized learning approaches.Assignment Details:
  • Plan and deliver differentiated science lessons across biology, chemistry, and physics
  • Develop individualised learning programmes to support students with varying needs
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to reviews
  • Support students in achieving their potential through alternative qualifications and pathways
  • Contribute to the school’s positive behaviour management approach

As a successful SEND Teacher with Connex Education Partnership, you will possess:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Degree in Science or related subject
  • Experience teaching science at secondary level
  • Understanding of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Knowledge of alternative qualifications (Entry Level, Functional Skills)
  • Additional training in autism or ADHD support
  • Experience with sensory learning approaches
