Together, you'll empower these students to succeed.As an Experienced SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with SEMH needs, ensuring they are not just in school - they are truly engaging with their education and progressing. You'll work side by side with teachers to create a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment.What You'll Do:
- Offer tailored, hands-on support to students, helping them overcome emotional and academic barriers.
- Build strong, trusting relationships, encouraging growth in emotional regulation, social skills, and academic development.
- Lead or assist with group interventions, ensuring all students feel heard, supported, and motivated.
- Use de-escalation strategies when needed, remaining calm, patient, and proactive.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing vital feedback and celebrating each student's achievements.
- Proven experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
- An empathetic, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students.
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and the confidence to implement them.
