An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Audiologist to join our Rochdale Community Audiology team. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and caring person to complement our existing audiology team.The Rochdale Audiology Service is friendly, forward thinking and experienced with a good skill mix. It is an innovative and dynamic service that provides treatment and advice to adults and children with hearing and balance problems.You will provide audiological assessment, management and support to patients presenting with less complex hearing impairment and disorders in line with service requirements across the Rochdale Audiology community clinic footprint. To meet service needs, there may be a requirement to work on a adhoc basis into our other clinic sites in Oldham and Bury. There may also be a requirement to work in local schools to deliver the school hearing screening programme.Key Requirements of the Person Specification: o BSc / MSc in Audiology or the equivalent professional qualification (ONC BTEC in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurements with a Professional Qualification in Audiology (BAAT Part I and II). o AHCS or HCPC registrationHours of work: The service operates over the core hours of 8.00am - 6.00pm Monday to Friday.Main duties of the jobYou will work in a range of community settings performing routine and predictable Audiology tasks. You will undertake diagnostic investigations of hearing for both adults and children, where highly accurate results are vital. You will work with patients to fit and verify hearing aid prescription, formulate individualised treatment plans and provide ongoing care, advice and support.The Audiologist will assess, undertake audiological testing and determine an individual treatment/management plan for routine patients.The Audiologist will select, fit hearing aids where appropriate and rehabilitate routine adult patients using the community boroughs computer management system.The Audiologist will have knowledge in Audiology to assesspatients directly referred from their GP and seek advice or refer patients to see a Senior Audiologist, Advanced Practitioner or Consultant using national and local guidelines.The Audiologist will interpret diagnostic tests and explain the results of these tests to patients, relatives and carers in an appropriate and empathetic manner, being sensitive to the complex communication difficulties of patients who are deaf or hard of hearing.The Audiologist will record audiological investigations and treatment plans on the community boroughs computer management system and formulate reports to other health professionals and key stakeholders where appropriate.About usThe Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) provides hospital and integrated health and social care services to over one million people living across Greater Manchester.
