- Take a lead role in the procurement process by providing advice and guidance on due diligence requirements - creating a simplified approach for onboarding and ongoing supplier management.
- Work with the RO's Evaluate the risks associated with each supplier, considering factors such as financial health, regulatory compliance, data security, reputation, and operational resiliency.
- Due diligence checks. Conduct thorough background checks on potential suppliers to ensure they meet the bank's standard and adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.
- Business Continuity Planning. Develop contingency plans to address potential supplier disruptions and ensure that the bank can continue its critical functions even in the face of supplier-related emergencies.
- Work with colleagues in our Legal team to include risk mitigation clauses in supplier contracts, outlining responsibilities and potential consequences for non-compliance.
- Establish metrics and KPIs to regularly assess the performance of suppliers identifying areas for improvement and addressing any emerging risks.
- Collaborate with the Bank's cybersecurity team to assess the cybersecurity measures of suppliers who have access to the bank's sensitive data or systems.
- Promote supplier management awareness across the Bank to ensure a rigorous governance model is adhered to for key / critical suppliers.
- Experience in a similar role within a fintech or financial services environment
- A solid understanding of banking operations and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of financial regulations, data privacy laws, anti-money laundering (AML) policies, and other relevant compliance guidelines is essential to ensure supplier compliance.
- Strong knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and best practices is vital.
- The ability to assess, analyse, and mitigate risks associated with suppliers is a key aspect of the role.
- Experience in conducting due diligence on suppliers and vendors to evaluate their financial stability, regulatory compliance, and risk exposure is highly valued.
- The ability to analyse complex data, identify potential risks, and develop effective risk mitigation strategies is crucial for success in this role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for working with various departments, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
- Supplier Risk Manager will need to collaborate with different stakeholders to ensure risk management efforts are cohesive and effective.
- Ideally experience or understanding of EBA Guidelines and SS21 Outsourcing
- Knowledge of OneTrust as the Bank's main GRC platform
