Ref: 832153Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Band 6 Biomedical Scientist to join the Microbiology (Bacteriology) Department at a Surrey hospital for a short-term placement throughout August 2025.Key Responsibilities:Perform diagnostic microbiology testing and reporting on a wide range of clinical specimensInterpret culture plates and results from complex analysers using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)Process samples including blood, cerebrospinal fluid, urine, faeces, sputum, tissues, and various secretionsIdentify and report on potential bacterial, viral, fungal, or parasitic pathogens to support clinical decision-makingRequirements:HCPC registration as a Biomedical ScientistStrong experience in microbiology, particularly in diagnostic bacteriologyCompetence in working with automated systems and LIMSAbility to work both independently and as part of a collaborative teamThis is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a vital diagnostic service in a busy NHS microbiology lab.To apply or request more information, please get in touch.
