Rate: £16.10 per hour (PAYE) / £20.35 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Type: Temporary, Full-Time
Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am–5:00pm; Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm. Occasional flexible hours may be required.The Role:
Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking an experienced Senior Family Support Worker to join a dedicated team in Stockton-on-Tees. This vital role involves supporting children and young people under 18—as well as their families and carers—through a variety of needs-led interventions designed to complement statutory social care efforts.Key Duties:Deliver emotional and practical support to children, families, and carers, including those in family placements, care homes, or supported housing.Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to safeguard children and promote their wellbeing.Assist statutory children’s services by providing stable, consistent support during assessments.Contribute professionally to multi-agency meetings and reviews, including providing formal reports and attending court when needed.Ensure the child’s voice remains central to planning and review processes.Record all activities and case notes accurately using Liquid Logic.Engage in continuous professional development to enhance practice.Requirements:A Level 3 qualification in Childcare or a related field (e.g., NVQ, NNEB, BTEC), or demonstrable equivalent experience.Proven background working with families under statutory interventions such as Child Protection, Children in Need, or Looked After Children.Strong understanding of child development and safeguarding protocols.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and IT competence.Ability to work independently, manage caseloads, and respond flexibly to service demands.Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.Enhanced DBS clearance is essential.Desirable:A relevant degree or higher-level qualification.Knowledge of child/adolescent mental health concerns and trauma-informed practice.Understanding of legislative frameworks relating to children’s social care.Why Choose Sanctuary Personnel?Sanctuary Personnel offers exceptional support to help you thrive in your role.
