- Set and operate CNC 3 axis milling machines to produce small to medium size batches of work.
- Inspect work to engineering drawings using various measuring equipment.
- Report any quality defects to the Machine Shop Supervisor.
- Carry out daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checks on machines.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards, 5S requirements and report any issues promptly.
- Optimise efficiencies through reduced set-up and cycle times, plus tool life monitoring.
- De-burr, clean, final inspection and completion of all traceability documentation.
- Ensure products are to the highest quality before being sent to the assembly line.
- Knowledge of operating CNC machine tools.
- Experience of setting and operating CNC mills, with a minimum of 3 axis.
- Experience of reading and editing faunc programs.
- Experience within a low batch component manufacturing industry.
- The ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Be able to use a range of measuring equipment to ensure the accuracy against the drawing.
- The ability to perform repetitive tasks over a long period of time.
- Knowledge of operating twin spindle machines would be advantageous.
- The ability to work to AS9100 aerospace quality standards would be advantageous.
