GP colleague sought for a friendly and welcoming practice
SESSIONS: 4 SESSIONS PER WEEKNorth Glen Medical Practice wishes to welcome a GP Partner to work as part of our friendly and exceptional multidisciplinary team for 4 sessions per week from 1st April 2026. We are willing to wait for the right candidate.You may be newly qualified or looking for a new challenge, either way we would be delighted to hear from you.The practice is situated in the North of Glenrothes and is within easy commute from all areas of Fife, Perth & Kinross, Dundee and Edinburgh.
North Glen has 3 GP partners and 3 salaried GPs serving our 8,800 patients across Glenrothes using EMIS and Docman as our clinical systems. We are looking to welcome an additional GP Partner to the Practice.We are a patient centred practice, with a welcoming and highly skilled nursing and admin team. Our nursing team comprise of our ANP/Nursing Manager who sees acute presentations, including children, and assists our GPs with home visits. We have two Nurse Practitioners who are prescribers and conduct our telephone triage and minor ailment clinics. We have three practice nurses and our Healthcare Assistant all providing an exceptional level of care to our patients.Our admin team are highly skilled and manage workflow documentation in order to reduce overall GP workload. They are trained to signpost patients
effectively and safely at the first point of contact. This includes signposting to Pharmacy First / Community Pharmacy or the most appropriate healthcare professional within the practice.The practice is well supported with first contact physiotherapy, as well as our practice pharmacists, and CTAC (Community Treatment and Care) service which provides additional phlebotomy and treatment room services. The practice also welcomes our colleagues from the Fife Alcohol Support Service (FASS) two days a week.We are a forward thinking and innovative practice offering additional services such as our community dermatology service which serves all GP practices in the Glenrothes locality, along with our in house counselling and CBT therapy. We are a ScotGEM training practice and enjoy welcoming 3rd year LIC medical students to the practice.We do believe in letting skills shine and actively encourage our GPs and all clinical and admin staff to undertake regular updates or any new training that we feel would benefit the services that the practice offers and of course our patients.We invest in medical equipment to make everyone's jobs clinically better and safer. We have an in-house ECG machine which links with EMIS and places the ECG result directly into the patient's medical records. We have an automated doppler machine, meaning that doppler assessments which can take 45 minutes to do manually, now take 10 minutes, meaning a better and more effective use of nursing time and overall better experience for the patient. Our appointments are mainly face to face, and are structured for our GPs as 10 x 15 appointments AM and 10 x 15 appointments PM. Our AM and PM appointments include telephone, routine face to face and same day emergency appointments. Home visits are shared between all GPs.This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual with good interpersonal and communication skills to join our practice and we would be happy to speak further with anyone interested in this position.
