Vision for Education is looking to recruit a compassionate and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a caring and inclusive primary school in Basildon, starting in September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term role, offering the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).You will work on a 1:1 basis with pupils across Reception, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, providing personalised support to meet their academic, social, and emotional needs. The pupils you’ll be supporting may present with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs.Key responsibilities:Supporting individual pupils 1:1 throughout the school dayAssisting with learning activities tailored to the pupil’s EHCPPromoting engagement, independence, and confidence in the classroomProviding support during transitions, break times, and sensory regulationCollaborating with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionalsMonitoring progress and contributing to the review processThe ideal candidate will:
✅ Have previous experience working with SEN pupils, ideally across different key stages
✅ Be confident supporting across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
✅ Demonstrate empathy, patience, and a calm, consistent approach
✅ Be confident working from EHCPs and delivering structured interventions
