Pay: £30,000.00 per yearJob description:Cogent staffing our recruiting for a Traffic planner / Clerk on behalf of our client based in Welshpool. The role of Transport Planner will be on a permanent basis offering an immediate start working on an afternoon shift.

Working hours - 11:00am - 20:00pm (Or until everything is finished, this could be 19:00pm up to 21:00pm)Responsibilities will include:
  • Route Planning.
  • Ensuring vehicles are running to capacity and reducing empty running.
  • Actioning any defects.
  • Emailing customers with collection times/delays.
  • Booking deliveries.
  • Providing the highest level of customer care.
  • Building good working relationships internally and externally.
  • Debriefing Drivers on return.
  • Effective time management to ensure the job is completed within the set time frame provided.
Skills required:
  • Previous experience as a Transport Planner or Traffic Clerk, alternatively experience in an operational role within logistics or haulage is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and telephone manner.
  • An understanding of compliance within the transport industry.
  • Experience in planning multiple delivery schedules.
  • Knowledge of safety and legal compliance.
  • Ability to build positive working relations with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
  • IT literate (Including working knowledge of MS and Excel).
  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines within a busy transport office.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
