Science or Engineering Graduates WelcomeAre you an early-career engineer or science graduate with a hands-on mindset and a passion for testing, building and improving real-world automotive products?A leading engineering manufacturer in North Wales is looking for a Graduate or Junior Test & Development Engineer to join its dynamic design and development team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a technical or scientific degree and mechanical aptitude to gain broad experience across hands-on testing, product validation, and engineering analysis.? What You'll Be Doing:Test Planning & Execution
Work closely with design engineers to create structured Design Verification Plans (DVPs) for new automotive products. Set up, run, and document tests that ensure performance, safety and durability.Hands-On Testing
Conduct real-world mechanical tests - from static loads to on-track evaluations. Capture and analyse data, identify failure modes, and feed insights back into the design cycle.Compliance & Documentation
Ensure products meet all relevant industry standards. Keep detailed records of testing activities, creating clear and concise technical reports.Build, Fabricate & Innovate
Get involved in welding, metal fabrication and assembly of test rigs, jigs and prototypes. Collaborate with the workshop and manufacturing teams to turn designs into reality.Fault Finding & Reverse Engineering
Use mechanical insight and testing tools to identify root causes of issues. Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild components to improve reliability and performance.Test Facility Management
Help manage and maintain the company's test equipment and work with external testing houses when needed.? What We're Looking For:A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or any related STEM field.Hands-on mechanical skills - whether gained through your degree, a personal project, workshop work or a practical job.Comfortable reading technical drawings, schematics and assembly instructions.Exposure to mechanical testing, product validation or problem-solving.Good communicator - confident writing technical reports and working as part of a team.A full UK driving licence - travel between the company's design hub and regional test sites is part of the role.? Bonus Skills (Not Essential):Welding (MIG or TIG), metal fabrication or practical workshop skills.Experience with DVP&R, fatigue or NVH testing, strain gauging or design of experiments.Knowledge of root cause analysis or fault diagnostics in mechanical systems.?
