- Manage all depot operations, including vehicles, drivers, delivery schedules, and site activity
- Deliver high-quality service for the National Schools Fruit Scheme (NSFS) by ensuring accurate and timely deliveries to schools
- Lead, develop and appraise team members, ensuring high morale and strong performance
- Plan and manage staff rotas, recruitment, training, and any disciplinary actions in line with company policy
- Ensure all vehicle routing, loading, and dispatch is carried out efficiently, on budget, and in line with safety standards
- Act as the site’s nominated CPC holder and ensure full compliance with Operator Licence regulations
- Monitor health and safety standards, conduct risk assessments, and ensure best working practices
- Maintain all transport, BRC, EHO, and customer compliance standards
- Liaise effectively with schools, internal teams, and stakeholders to maintain excellent service levels
- Track KPIs, control budgets, and identify cost-saving or continuous improvement opportunities
- Valid CPC qualification (this is a prerequisite)
- Previous experience in a depot, transport, or logistics management role
- Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills
- Good working knowledge of transport legislation, driver hours, and UK logistics regulations
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Ability to plan and prioritise under pressure
- Sound understanding of Health & Safety, risk management, and vehicle compliance
- Experience managing budgets and delivering operational efficiency
- Experience working on public sector or education contracts (e.g. NSFS)
- Familiarity with BRC and EHO requirements
- Previous experience working with agency labour or multi-drop logistics
- Project management or continuous improvement experience
