About Us: We are a friendly and progressive GP surgery serving our patient population in rural North Dorset. Our dedicated team is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. We are currently seeking a Bank Healthcare Assistant (HCA) with proven phlebotomy experience to join our clinical team on an as-needed basis.About the Role: As a Bank HCA, you will support our nursing and clinical team in delivering a range of services to patients. This flexible role is ideal for an experienced HCA looking to pick up shifts around other commitments.Main duties of the jobKey Responsibilities:
  • Phlebotomy (essential)
  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • ECGs
  • Health checks (NHS Health Checks, new patient checks, etc.)
  • Wound care and dressings (if trained)
  • Support with chronic disease management clinics
  • Accurate data entry and documentation
  • Maintaining clinical stock levels and assisting with infection control
What Were Looking For:
  • Minimum 1 year experience working as an HCA, ideally in a GP or community setting
  • Recent and proven phlebotomy experience (essential)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident using clinical IT systems (SystmOne desirable)
  • A team player with a flexible, can-do attitude
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Relevant HCA qualifications (e.g. Care Certificate or NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care)
