- Leading teams of Cost Control professionals on complex projects or programmes.
- Driving continuous improvement in cost control (and interfacing project controls) processes to create efficiency and increasing benefits to our clients.
- Driving the implementation, embedding and roll-out of any identified changes to cost control processes.
- Appropriately selecting, implementing, administering, and maintaining cost control systems and procedures to track project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
- Lead the team and provide guidance on production of accruals to ensure that the Actual Cost of Work Performed is accurately reflected in a timely manner in the cost data.
- Provide subject matter advice and manage the development of reporting tracking tools, where required, and generate Cost reports on a regular basis, including evaluation of earned value.
- Defining how to build and assure project forecast to account for all residual works in the Estimate to Complete (ETC) and the development of the Estimate at Completion (EAC) incorporating required supply chain information.
- Managing and leading the production of cost reports to a defined reporting cycle.
- Providing Cost information and subject matter advice, where required, to the project team to develop status reports, keep management informed on project progress, and to support performance management decision making.
- Present / provide performance recovery recommendations to relevant stakeholders and senior management to support effective decision making.
- Supporting T&T's recruitment activities to grow and develop the project controls capability.
- Experience in Cost Control on complex projects/programmes is essential.
- Practical experience of different cost performance reporting and cost forecasting techniques is essential.
- Practical experience of Earned Value Management (EVM), progress reporting, forecasting and performance reporting and analysis is essential.
- Practical experience of using MS Excel and other MS applications.
- Experience of interfacing risk with other Project Controls disciplines (Scheduling, Risk Management, Change Control) is essential.
- Experience in leading teams is essential.
- Familiarity with various Cost Control tools.
- An understanding of how other aspects of Project Controls (Scheduling, Cost Control, Change Control) interact with Cost Engineering is essential.
- The ability to work in both delivery and transformation projects is desirable.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts.
