London | £120k–£150k + Equity | On-site (5 days/week)We’re working with a stealthy but seriously impressive startup that’s rebuilding the data warehouse from the ground up—designed for complex, multimodal data like time-series, geospatial, point clouds, genomics, video, and more. This is a rare opportunity to join a small, world-class engineering team (ex-Palantir, Citadel) at the early stages of a deep-tech journey. They’ve secured significant backing, have a 7+ year runway, and are tackling bold infrastructure problems that blend cutting-edge open source with proprietary cloud architecture. They’re now hiring a systems-focused engineer to help build out the core storage engine and distributed infrastructure. The work spans:
- Building high-performance, low-level systems in Rust
- Designing distributed cloud-native infrastructure
- Optimising file formats and compression strategies
- Shaping query execution performance
- Preparing the platform for real-world customers
- Strong systems engineering background
- Experience with performance-critical software (Rust, C++, or similar)
- Interest in distributed systems, database internals, or storage engines
- Product sense: you care about how infrastructure gets used
- Bonus if you’ve worked with tech like Apache Arrow, Parquet, DataFusion, Clickhouse, DuckDB
- £120k–£150k base + meaningful equity
- Full-time, on-site in Shoreditch (Monday–Friday)
- A chance to do foundational work with real long-term impact
