- To support the CDT Director and the Management Team in delivering all Objectives of the funded CDT
- To provide professional services management and coordination for the CDT, and to institute the CDT management & administration hub, and governing committee structure, with proactive support for the CDT's focus on equality, diversity & inclusion.
- To provide high-quality support to the CDT Director on all matters related to CDT delivery, effectively managing annual budgeting and reconciliation procedures to enable all CDT operations.
- To oversee the CDT's communications strategy, and regular reporting to EPSRC, the CDT Management team and Advisory Board.
- To be the first point of contact for all parties involved in the CDT and other stakeholders across the partnership.
- To provide high-quality support to the CDT Director and CDT Management team, including preparation of reports, CDT data analysis, advising on regulations (UKRI/EPSRC and King's) as appropriate.
- To manage the coordination of the AE-PSI CDT research training, cohort development programme and other activities across the institutions, working closely with the CDT's Director and Deputy Directors, the King's Centre for Doctoral Studies and relevant Faculty's committees.
- To create, implement and maintain administrative procedures within the CDT, reviewing & modifying them as necessary; provide consistent effective programme management and support whilst adhering to university and UKRI regulations.
- To be responsible for and hold oversight of UKRI/EPSRC policies, requirements and reporting.
- To ensure effective communication and champion the AE-PSI CDT across the partnership as a whole as well as within relevant King's Faculties, to ensure maximum awareness of the CDT with relevant academics and departments.
- To engage with various required systems and processes to allow timely information on funded students and to ensure accurate payment of fees and stipends
- With expert support from the Post -award Studentships team, to plan and manage the CDT's budgets, including analysing and preparing financial and written reports as required for funding bodies, senior management and external stakeholders, making recommendations to the CDT Core Management team on budget implications of decisions.
- To provide high-quality advice on the annual allocation of studentships.
- To organise and implement effective student and studentship management processes, including recruitment, applications for suspensions, extensions and other student progress related changes, working in collaboration with supervisors, Registry Services, Centre for Doctoral Studies, and the CDT Director.
- To oversee the CDT administrative team and wider support network and ensure that everyone collaborates to the required standard.
- To undertake continuous personal and professional development, and to support it for CDT's administrative staff, through effective use of the university's Performance Development Review scheme and staff development opportunities.
- To undertake any other duties that might be reasonably requested by the CDT Directors and the Associate Director (Doctoral Partnerships), who line manages this role.
- Good understanding of postgraduate training and funding issues and management of postgraduate education, e.g. UKRI scholarships.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, including a flexible approach to managing a constant and varied portfolio of requests; able to meet multiple fixed deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels, with both internal/external stakeholders
- Familiarity with Higher Education administration
- Substantial experience in project management and implementation, including report-writing, preferably in an academic environment
- Able to lead others and contribute effectively as part of a team with a 'hands-on' approach to working
- Able to think strategically and to contribute to strategic direction
- Familiarity with HR processes and equal opportunities policy
- Knowledge of university student and finance data systems; content management systems (website); external UKRI database (JeS).
