Managing the accuracy & timeliness of our data enables our businesses, helps us to make informed decisions and protects us from risk. Firmwide data office (FDO) is a group within the Cyber, Data Risk and Resiliency Division that focuses on Data as a key priority of Morgan Stanley's overall Strategy. FDO develops tooling & solutions for Data Flows, Risk Reduction, Architecture and Visualization.What you'll do in the role:
- Setting up tools and standards for managing the program
- Work with business leads, product, engineering, and other partners to define scope, objectives, timelines and project plans.
- Manage project intake by aligning stakeholder requests to business requirements
- Take complex business requirements and synthesize tech specifications in a digestible format for effective user story writing
- Conveying project updates through standardized reporting and metrics focusing on deriving insights
- Drive projects forward through delivery of actionable updates which engage all stakeholders
- Demonstrate superior judgment in mitigating risks and issues to project timelines and foster an environment where risk/controls are anticipated and proactively resolve across teams or escalated accordingly
- Build engaging presentation materials and tell a story catered to the appropriate audience
- Ensure ongoing alignment with other inter-dependent projects and initiatives across the group
- Support process improvement initiatives focusing on optimizing efficiency of the fleet
- Work with geographically dispersed teams in a flexible yet results driven environment
- Planning, tracking, and reporting on outputs and outcomes
- Cross project interdependency management
- Setting quality control standards and tracking implementation
- Holding master copies of program documentation
- Maintaining and updating program plan
- Maintaining and monitoring programs change control procedures
- 5 years working in a PMO or Program Support role
- Solid understanding of the Financial Services Industry and/or Data Management
- Ability to comprehend and contribute to technical discussions and accurately summarize business requirements and support technical specifications in technical documentation (e.g., user stories)
- Outstanding relationship management, communication, teamwork, and influence skills; ability to operate at senior levels in both written and verbal communications
- Adapt and adjust accordingly with poise and with the interest of the customer in mind
- Strong understanding of Project Management concepts, SDLC methodologies and Operating models (Agile & Waterfall)
- Experienced in JIRA or other tools to create a productive, high quality development environment
- Adept ability to extract technical concepts from business requirements which are shared by internal business customers
- Experience of working on programs focused on delivering change to technology risk & controls or of a regulatory, internal audit or operational risk nature
- Experience working on Data Flow or Lineage related programmes is preferable
- Solid proficiency in project and program methodologies across the full program lifecycle
- Naturally proactive and ability to thrive where there's ambiguity
- Comfortable working with a high level of independence
- Focus on identifying opportunities to drive greater effectiveness and efficiency through automation and process streamlining
- An interest in emerging technologies such as Generative AI and developing real-life applications in the program Mgmt. domain
- Ability to quickly develop relationships coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills
