Contract: TemporaryAbout the Role:We are currently seeking reliable and experienced Kitchen Assistants and Cooks to join busy healthcare environments. In this vital role, you will support the preparation and serving of nutritious meals to patients, staff, and visitors, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. You will play an important part in promoting patient wellbeing and supporting the smooth running of catering services within the Trust.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals in line with dietary requirements.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Ensure food safety and hygiene regulations are followed at all times.
- Assist with stock rotation, deliveries, and correct food storage.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as required.
- Work effectively as part of the catering team to meet service deadlines.
- Follow Trust guidelines and complete necessary records, such as temperature checks.
- Previous experience in a catering or kitchen role (healthcare setting desirable but not essential).
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (training can be provided).
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility with shifts and locations, if needed.
