We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a high-performing project controls team supporting a nationally significant nuclear infrastructure programme. This role is a unique opportunity to be part of one of the UK's largest and most complex low-carbon projects, contributing to the future of clean energy.Working within a regulated environment, you will be responsible for producing and validating detailed estimates at all stages of the project lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with governance processes.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed and accurate capital cost estimates in line with project scope and technical requirementsInterpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work breakdown structures to derive estimating inputsWork collaboratively with planning, risk, procurement, and engineering teamsApply nuclear-specific norms, productivity factors, and escalation ratesSupport benchmarking, contingency assessment, and cost risk analysis exercisesEnsure estimates align with governance frameworks and client assurance processesAssist with market testing, tender comparisons, and commercial evaluationsMaintain estimate databases, tools, and documentation in accordance with programme standardsPresent estimate deliverables in structured formats for internal and external stakeholdersWhat You’ll BringProven experience in estimating within highly regulated sectors (nuclear, defence, infrastructure, etc.)Understanding of nuclear-specific estimating methodologies and safety case impactsProficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g. Excel, Cleopatra, PRISM, or similar)Familiarity with WBS development, cost codes, and quantity-based estimatingAbility to interpret and work with engineering documents and contractual frameworksStrong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detailDegree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or similar (or equivalent experience)What’s On OfferInvolvement in one of the UK’s flagship nuclear energy programmesOpportunity to influence cost outcomes on critical national infrastructureStructured development within a dedicated nuclear project controls environmentCompetitive salary and benefits packageHybrid/flexible working optionsLong-term career prospects in a future-focused, regulated sector
