
Advanced Clinical Pharmacist - Inflammatory Bowel Services

- To support the provision of high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease
- To clinically assess and treat IBD patients effectively in scheduled outpatient clinics according to prescribed job plan, utilising skills as a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber as and when required.
- To contribute to the development of prescribing policies for groups of patients treated by the clinical specialists e.g. Shared Care Guidelines for care of patients across primary/secondary care.
- To support the safe and cost-effective use of high-cost drug therapies within the field of inflammatory bowel disease.
- To horizon scan for upcoming novel therapeutics and proactively submit new drug applications to the Trust's Medicines Optimisation Group to support prompt access to new therapeutics.
- To engage with colleagues in the pharmaceutical industry to identify and gain access to commercial financial agreements and rebate schemes to ensure resources are utilised effectively.

- Vocational Master's degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent
- Postgraduate UK Diploma or higher (MSc or Doctorate) in Clinical Pharmacy / Pharmacy Practice or equivalent or relevant experience
- Non medical prescribing qualification
- Completion of Foundation Pharmacist (Pre-Registration) training
- Annotation to the GPhC Pharmacist Register as an independent non-medical prescriber
- Member of the UKCPA Gastroenterology Clinical Group
- Advanced level of clinical knowledge
- Evidence of use of clinical IT systems
- oExperience in Clinical Pharmacy services in a UK hospital
- oExperience in delivering training.
- Previous experience of working in a clinic setting
- oDemonstrate a good level of verbal and written English.
- oHighly developed communication skills
