Our Secure Training Centre (STC) is an 80-bedded secure facility catering to young individuals aged 12-17 years.Our comprehensive healthcare provisions mirror those of the NHS, encompassing GP services, dental care, optometry, physiotherapy, podiatry, immunisations, sexual health clinics, and programs supporting young fatherhood. Our professional team comprises Registered Learning Disability Nurses (RNLDs), Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs), and Registered General Nurses (RGNs), along with Registered Children's Nurses (RCNs).About the Role:Are you seeking a role that promises diversity and professional growth? Sanctuary Personnel seeks an adept Registered General Nurse to fortify our secure healthcare team. As an integral part of our multidisciplinary setup, you will undertake assessments and manage a caseload of patients within a secure environment. This role demands a holistic approach towards service users, addressing their complex needs with empathy and diligence.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of patients with diagnosed Learning Disabilities or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  • Conduct initial assessments, devise comprehensive care plans, and execute follow-up procedures.
  • Engage in establishment policy-compliant processes designed to support patients at risk of self-harm/suicide, adhering to NICE Guidance.
  • Attend monthly supervision sessions with the line manager and complete annual Employee Development Reviews (EDRs) to evaluate targets, progression, and learning objectives.
  • Employ exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to provide support to patients, demonstrating patience and resilience.
  • Deliver training and guidance to staff on the care of patients with Learning Disabilities.
  • Collaborate with the team to enhance awareness days and workshops, actively participating in weekly Integrated Mental Health Team Referrals meetings to ensure an integrated approach towards at-risk patients.
Essential Skills:
  • Part 1 NMC registration
  • 5-year UK residency history
Desirable Skills:
  • Evidence of ongoing clinical practice development
  • Experience in a secure environment
  • Degree-level qualification or higher
  • Involvement in innovation or change initiatives
  • Nurse Prescriber qualification
  • Experience in delivering 'value for money' services
  • Valid driving licence
