Castle Education are recruiting on behalf of a well-established nursery in York who are looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy Nursery Manager to join their leadership team.
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a senior role in a professional, supportive environment where you will lead staff, ensure exceptional early years provision, and support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the setting.
The Role
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will:
- Lead, inspire, and mentor the nursery team to deliver exceptional care and education
- Take full responsibility for the smooth running of the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager
- Create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for children aged 0-5
- Ensure all policies, procedures, and safeguarding requirements are followed
- Build strong, positive relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies
- Support staff development through regular supervision, training, and role modelling best practice
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene across the nursery
- A Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or above)
- Proven experience in a senior role within an early years setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and current childcare legislation
- Confident in building relationships with families and professionals
- A genuine passion for delivering the highest standards of care and education
