This is an exciting opportunity for a registered clinician to become part of the Teesside CAMHS crisis team. The post is for a band 6 clinician, fixed term/secondment 12 months who has a keen interest in children's mental health and is able to work in a fast paced but rewarding service. The post is to work as an autonomous clinician carrying out crisis assessments and being able to formulate plans for young people and their carers during times of distress.The crisis team is a 24 hour service that caters for children and young people up to the age of 18 living in the Teesside area and offers rapid assessment of mental health and emotional needs for children in crisis.18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework is essential.Applicants must ensure that prior to applying they have agreement from their current line manager that they can be released on a secondment basis. In the event that permanent funding is secured for this post the successful applicant will be confirmed in post on a permanent basis.Main duties of the jobThe main duties involve assessment of mental health and emotional needs of children who present in crisis.   • Current professional registration with appropriate professional body
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area (within agreed timescale)
  • Depending on work area, recognised sign-off mentor (or equivalent) or must be achieved within agreed timescale
  • Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)
  • 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework
Desirable
  • Leadership or management qualification
  • CAMHS Degree
  • Certificate in teaching & assessing in clinical practice as appropriate to own profession
  • Recognised qualification in a specific model of therapy e.g. family therapy, CBT etc
  • Recognised training in Facilitation of Parenting Groups
