- Advise, guide and coach management on all matters relating to environment, health & safety.
- Support the development, deployment and engagement of the HSE strategy for the business that aligns to the overall site goals, strategy & objectives
- Roll out HSE tools provided by the Central function in line with our Go For Zero Strategy and upskill the team
- Communicate effectively with key internal & external stakeholders; HSE Central Leadership, Engineering function, project teams Procurement, Operations, Technical, OPEX, Legal etc. on risks, issues and key changes required in reference to HSE standards, Legal compliance, systems implementations, security provision etc.
- Complete internal inspections of the facility on a periodic basis, respond to requests for support, document internal inspections and audits and support the Central HSE function on both internal and external audit programs. (ISO 45001, 14001, Insurance Inspections etc.)
- Support the site and L&D function by ensuring all team members have the appropriate training and resource to do their required work in a safe manner
- Ensure the facility is in line with Central Risk frameworks and documented process, ensuring site Risk Assessments are completed, in line with Central standards and compliance measures are in place.
- Ensure all site incidents are recorded in the Pilgrims Europe Incident Management system (Quor) investigated within a timely manner and corrective actions are raised and completed to ensue prevention of reoccurrence
- Engage with Central HSE systems and champion their use and roll out within the facility to enhance Safety standards (3 Year Plan, QUOR, GFZ standards, Internal Compliance Audit program, Gap Tools etc.)
- NEBOSH General Certificate, Level 3, equivalent qualification or experience level. - essential
- IEMA Environmental Management Certificate or equivalent qualification - desirable
- Experience in a FMCG Industry - essential
- Understanding of HSE systems and enhancing site culture
- Experience in HSE/ Safety/ Environment in a chilled manufacturing company
- Understanding of Audit standards and the ability to influence change through positive engagement.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels of site, external authorities and wider business leadership.
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
