SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Burnley
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour (dependent on experience)Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist primary SEN school in Burnley to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from September.This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. The school offers a nurturing and structured environment where staff work closely to support each child’s individual development and progress.Key Responsibilities:Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning needsAssist the class teacher in delivering adapted learning activitiesHelp manage behaviour using positive behaviour support strategiesEncourage engagement, independence, and confidence in pupilsSupport with personal care where required (training provided if needed)The ideal candidate will:Have experience working in an SEN setting or with pupils with additional needsDemonstrate patience, empathy, and resilienceBe confident in managing behaviour positively and consistentlyWork effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary teamHold relevant qualifications or training (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach desirable)This role is ideal for experienced SEN support staff or those looking to develop their skills further in a supportive, specialist environment.To apply or for more information, please contact Teaching Personnel today. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
