As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for keeping a large-scale automated site running efficiently and reliably. This is a varied and hands-on role where electrical skills are essential to supporting site uptime and performance.Key responsibilities include:
- Electrical fault finding across motors, drives, sensors, relays, isolators, and safety circuits.
- Working with 3-phase systems, reading schematics, and carrying out safe isolations.
- Mechanical maintenance including chain, belts, bearings, gearboxes, and pneumatics.
- Responding quickly to breakdowns and applying methodical diagnostic approaches.
- Delivering planned preventative maintenance tasks across automated handling systems.
- Supporting improvement projects and upgrades to further enhance site performance.
- Managing spares and ensuring engineering documentation and compliance are kept up to date.
To be successful as a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll need:
- A recognised Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineering (NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC, etc.).
- Proven experience with electrical fault finding using multimeters and working with 3-phase equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings confidently.
- Strong mechanical understanding (bearings, belts, gearboxes, pneumatics).
- Previous experience in automation, distribution, or high-volume environments is highly desirable.
- A proactive, team-first attitude with flexibility to support a 24/7 operation.
- Work on a large-scale, fully automated site with modern technology.
