Newport Medical Centre is looking to welcome two GPs to their urgent care team to work across their 3 practices. The GP will provide high quality, patient centred care in a fast paced environment, addressing acute illnesses, minor injuries and urgent medical conditions that do not require emergency department care.Main duties of the job
  • Face to face and telephone consultations.
  • Home visits.
  • Administration, complying with the services and contracts (QOF, Enhanced services).
  • Education and training of trainee clinical staff.
  • Support the duty GP by providing on the day appointments to help manage the on the day demand.

  • Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management, and primary prevention and screening services;
  • Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date;
  • Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety;
  • Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a confidential manner.
