- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during lessons, focusing on specific learning goals and targets.
- Assist students with accessing learning materials, understanding instructions, and completing tasks to the best of their abilities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.
- Monitor student progress and behaviour, keeping accurate records and reporting back to the SENCO and teachers as required.
- Support students with social and emotional development, promoting independence and self-confidence.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions in line with school policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with external professionals, such as educational psychologists or speech therapists, to ensure holistic support for students with complex needs
- Current valid DBS or the willingness to obtain one
- Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or prior experience as a Learning Support Assistant (Unqualified then you are still welcome to apply)
- Passion for education, supporting and developing a student’s education
