An opportunity has arisen for a Casual Education Assistant within Environment Service.WHAT IS INVOLVED?As an Education Assistant, the postholder will be managed by the Parks and Countryside Programme officer and will be required to work at our destination parks Hardwick Park and Wharton Park. The postholder will work closely with the Education Officer and support with the delivery of a wide and comprehensive range of historical and environmentally based education sessions both formal and informal across all age and ability levels. In addition, they will assist in promoting our parks through a range of innovative events and activities while engaging with the local community. The Education Assistant will be flexible to fully assist with all elements of education including events, marketing, administration, and interpretation. They will be able to work on their own initiative with a focus on delivering school workshops , school holiday activities, Under 5s programme and birthday party packages. The post holder will assist the team in supporting delivery of projects with community and interest groups. Weekend working will be required at times with the flexibility to work additional hours during busy seasonal periods to support in the delivery of our learning programmeWe encourage you to contact Louise Vest via email at to arrange an informal discussion about the role.WHAT WILL I NEED?
  • 4 GCSE’s including Maths and English or an equivalent qualification in a related area
  • Experience of working with children of all ages
  • Experience of public events
