We focus on design, construction, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, decommissioning and dismantling also covering logistics and documentation.We are actively seeking a skilled Layout CAD Designer to join our design engineering team for an exciting new build nuclear engineering project. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in creating detailed plant layout that align with the unique requirements of nuclear facilities,Job Description
  • Modifying the PDMS 3D-Model of the plants, each time a change from site has a significant impact on the design, following the rules of modelling and checking consistency of the change.
  • Modelling on Components and equipment, Civil structure, Steelwork, Pipework, HVAC ducts and components, Instrumentation, Electrical cable trays, boxes and cabinets & Supports.
  • Carrying out detailed 2D and 3D modelling activities to support the Layout team to answer to site queries.
  • Contributing to answer to site requests by gathering all needed inputs, providing technical analysis and justification, by liaising with the engineering back-offices.
  • Evaluating the impacts of the request on the different disciplines like Performing 2D-3D checks when needed.
  • Contributing to the production of any technical document requested to support the construction (Equipment Location Book, Layout Dummy Bedplate Drawing, Review of Anchorages for Equipment).
  • Performing under the supervision of the Layout Discipline Lead and Layout CAD Team lead.
  • Supporting any technical issue or deviations.
Qualifications
  • Design office experience with knowledge of several areas of engineering (pipework, electricity, HVAC, civil engineering).
  • Hands on experience of PDMS and AutoCAD with at least 15 years.
  • Proficient designer with 10+ years in the nuclear sector.
  • Broad experience in Electrical Design.
  • Professional communication skills.
Additional Information
  • 12 months+ Long-term contract
  • Salary/rate – depending on experience
  • Location: Bristol (Onsite)
  • 3 days on-site optional 2 days WFH
  • 20 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
