Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors and making a positive impact on the local community? We're looking for a Waste Resource Management Operative on behalf of our public sector client to join their dedicated Waste Operations team.This role is key to ensuring the borough remains clean, safe, and environmentally friendly by providing essential waste collection and recycling services.What You'll Be DoingCollecting domestic and commercial waste, including recyclables, and ensuring containers are returned safely.Supporting the team with street cleansing duties, such as litter picking, weeding, and clearing fly-tipped materials.Helping at Household Recycling Centres by assisting residents with their waste and keeping the site clean and well-organised.Reporting any vehicle issues and assisting drivers when needed.Taking on other tasks during bad weather, such as gritting and snow clearance.Occasionally delivering leaflets or notices as part of community outreach.What We're Looking ForEssential:Basic literacy (you'll need to read instructions and complete records).A valid UK driving licence (Category B).At least 6 months of experience in a waste management or similar environment.A flexible, team-oriented attitude with good time management skills.A commitment to health and safety procedures, including manual handling.Desirable:12 months or more of relevant experience.Knowledge of waste collection or recycling processes.For further information on this vacancy, or any other Built Environment job in Belfast or wider Northern Ireland, please apply via the link below or contact Glenn Roberts in the strictest confidence.
