- Strategic and Tactical Leadership of Sector Procurement team, promoting a high-performance culture and continuous development
- Provide strong functional governance and develop and implement strategic approaches underpinning the business needs
- Drive for a high standard of Procurement Plans and assessment of plans from other sectors and LoB’s
- Oversee timely and well-planned supplier negotiations across all projects to ensure on time and compliant PO placement, resolving any complex issues.
- As part of the authority for approval ensure contractual commitments are clear, compliant (including to DCMA requirements) and unambiguous and within the Company’s approval parameters including risk and cash flow.
- Continuous drive for cost reduction, visible through Procurement PCRB inputs and functional KPI’s
- Promotion of customer/supplier intimacy, internally and externally, ensuring supplier business reviews/ engagements are coordinated with internal stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement on NPI projects schedule management, working closely with Operations Planning and wider IPT to increase visibility of inter-dependencies
- Ensure the team is managing risks, liabilities and commitments of contractual agreements balanced with maximising opportunities in a consistent manner
- Generation and presentation of management reports and business inputs to sector, site and UK level where required
- Educated to degree standard, professional qualification and/or significant domain experience.
- Experience of working in Aerospace & Defence sector a distinct advantage
- Proven collaboration, communication, planning, problem solving, decision making and continuous improvement skills
- Ability to engage and influence cross-functional/cross site teams at all levels
- Possesses expertise to be called upon as a leader for specific complex assignments.
- Commercial acumen and contracting management
- Able to define a strategic approach to dealing with the Company markets, products, customers and suppliers.
- A high degree of understanding of LCM and business processes and ability to apply them independently to meet business objectives.
- Able to provide advice, guidance and leadership in customer and people management with the development of competencies for the requirements of the function.
- High level of knowledge of scenario planning specific to the business requirements, change management and strategic thinking
