Seven Resourcing are looking for a Senior Lawyer to fill an exclusive opportunity in Southwark.We have opportunities available for up to 12 months and the pay is £57.36 per hour.The Hiring manager is looking for someone who can work 36 hours a week (various shifts available from Monday to Sunday).The role:Responsible for the provision of complex legal advice within a defined area, ensuring that the principles of good governance are met, in accordance with the regulatory framework. Make an effective contribution to the development and delivery of corporate & service strategies, policies and operational plans that secure the achievement of service and council objectives. Where required to be responsible for the provision of highest quality outcomes and effective legal services to clients - including the Cabinet, Committees, steering groups, other Council bodies and elected Members.Key Responsibilities:To provide legal expertise on highly complex issues for the council, ensuring that services are commercially focused business driven and comply with the Council's statutory and contractual obligations.To participate in determining and setting the direction for the department in business and financial planning, ensuring that the service is responsive to the changing environment and the best use is made of available resources.To be responsible for the provision of expertise at Committee and other decision-making bodies, responding to complex legal arguments on behalf of Members, Chief Officers, project boards and departments as to the law on matters relating to the area of specialism.Qualifications:Solicitor with 5 years qualificationLocal government lawIf this role is something you'd be interested in or available to undertake, please could you reply to this email with your CV ASAP?
