- Assisting with overall payroll preparation for up to 3000 employees on a wide variety of payrolls with both monthly and weekly pay frequency
- Auditing of payroll information and documentation to ensure appropriate authorisation
- Input of both permanent and temporary data to payroll system.

- Data input is set against strict deadlines and therefore work rate and accuracy are of paramount importance to this position.
- Keyboard experience and knowledge of excel spreadsheets is essential and proven experience of working in a Wages function would be a definite advantage. The role will require a degree of instruction, both in the practicalities of office based data input and in order to gain an appreciation of factory practices, which impinge directly on office administration.
- Training will be 'hands on' and will be delivered at appropriate intervals by departmental colleagues. Training is to be a wholly participative exercise and its delivery need not always be formal.
- The office can be extremely busy and on occasions the Payroll Office is required to liaise on work related matters by telephone with external bodies. The Administrator must therefore conduct themselves at all times in a professional and responsible manner.

- Act as a primary contact for employees and site administrators, handling payroll-related queries promptly and professionally.
- Support preparation of payroll for up to 3,000 employees across multiple payroll types and pay frequencies (weekly and monthly).
- Audit payroll information and documentation to ensure proper authorisation and compliance with procedures.
- Enter both permanent and temporary data into the payroll system with accuracy, and perform regular data reconciliations.
- Carry out general payroll administration tasks while meeting strict deadlines where accuracy and attention to detail are critical.
- Utilise strong keyboard skills and advanced Excel knowledge; prior experience in a wages or payroll function is an advantage.
- Engage in hands-on, participative training to gain both office-based payroll skills and an understanding of factory practices affecting payroll.
- Operate effectively in a busy office environment, liaising with external bodies by telephone when required, and maintaining a professional, responsible manner at all times.
