- Formulate and implement action plans to increase service performance and achieve service sales targets and agreed budgets.
- Achieve Technician productivity targets and ensure that Technicians are kept productive with adequate booking levels and ensure no bookings are delayed due to equipment failure.
- Regularly assess the team’s skill level and expertise, agree training and development plans and ensure progress is monitored regularly.
- Develop technical skills and workmanship of the team to continually improve the quality of customer service and satisfaction.
- Achieve service department targets through reviewing weekly/monthly accounts, operating controls and composite figures.
- Ensure that credit is properly controlled and overdue accounts are promptly cleared.
- Be fully conversant with manufacturers’ warranty procedures and to liaise with warranty department to ensure they follow manufacturer and Hendy procedures.
- Ensure that all colleagues are familiar with the requirements of the warranty and quality systems and that work is carried out in accordance with those procedures.

- A proven track record of running a successful service department in a main dealer environment;
- The ability to lead by example, manage and inspire the team to consistently exceed customer satisfaction and profitability objectives;
- Experience of developing and monitoring budgets;
- Strong communication and organisational skills with high levels of self-motivation;
- Up-to-date knowledge of vehicle and consumer legislation as well as FCA regulations; and
- A full UK driving licence.
