  • Greet patients and visitors to the practice and maintain a welcoming disposition at all times
  • Answer general enquiries and explain surgery practice and procedures.
  • Navigate patients to the most appropriate professional
  • Register new NHS patients, and supply all new patients with the essential information about the practice.
  • Receive and process requests for repeat prescriptions
  • Record and pass on electronic messages to district Nurses, Health Visitors and other attached staff where appropriate
  • Arrange follow-up appointments with doctors, nurses and other health professionals
  • Answer all telephone calls in a courteous manner and deal with them appropriately Job description

  • Good communication skills. An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality. Ability to work under pressure. Availability to work over two sites between 7.00am and 8.00pm. Availability to cover sickness & holidays.
  • Weekly shift pattern:
  • Monday 9am-6.30pm
  • Wednesday 4-8pm
  • Thursday 9am-4.30pm
  • Friday 8.30am-12.30pm
Desirable
  • Experience of working in General Practice or the NHS environment would be highly desirable. *Knowledge of Emis Web clinical systems. *Pleasant and articulate. Experience of working with public/patients *Experience of working in primary care

  • Good standard of basic education, especially in English and Mathematics
