Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland.Scottish Water is expanding its use of Copperleaf—a leading asset investment planning and management tool—to become the decision support backbone for managing a dynamic, rolling investment portfolio worth around £1.4 billion each year.We’re looking for an experienced engineering or planning professional to lead the crucial transition from project launch to full business adoption and real value delivery.As the AM Decision Making Adoption Manager (Copperleaf), you’ll play a key role in making sure Copperleaf is fully embraced and consistently used to optimize the investment portfolio, align strategic and operational decisions, and build regulatory confidence in our SR27 Delivery Plan.You’ll work closely with SW Digital (Programme ORBIT) and partners across Scottish Water’s Sustainable Investment Decision Making (SIDM) transformation to standardize processes and embed Copperleaf into everyday decision making.What you’ll doYou’ll be the go-to person for supporting a focused agile team, helping prioritize work and bringing in the right experts when needed. Your role will be to encourage business adoption by creating easy access for questions, sharing best practices, and coaching planners and engineers. You’ll build a network of champions to ensure everyone uses the tools consistently and effectively.You’ll work closely with the digital team to develop a smooth technical support system for Copperleaf, making sure roles and processes are clear, and embedding Copperleaf into ongoing operations beyond the initial rollout.Once Copperleaf is up and running, you’ll lead the transition into steady state use. This means working with planning teams to keep investment portfolios up to date, supporting regular reviews, and helping with annual reporting. You’ll aim to improve decision-making, transparency, and efficiency, and find ways to demonstrate the value Copperleaf brings to the business.You’ll help shape the next phase of the project by aligning business processes and tools with Copperleaf. This includes working with leaders to prioritize new features and develop strong business cases for future upgrades and deployments.You’ll also lead key initiatives that will improve decision-making consistency for asset management, enhancing data quality for asset health measures and collaborating with strategy and analytics teams to ensure Copperleaf supports these goals.Finally, you’ll take charge of assurance activities, managing internal and external reviews to ensure data and decisions from Copperleaf meet regulatory expectations and support key delivery plans.What you’ll needYou’ll bring your strong background in asset management or capital investment planning, especially in infrastructure or regulated environments. Your knowledge of ISO 55001 and asset management systems will help guide how we approach our work.You’ll take the lead on portfolio management and decision support, designing processes and frameworks that make investment decisions clear, consistent, and well-governed.You’ll be a natural change leader—building great relationships, influencing stakeholders, and rolling out new ways of working. You’ll also create training and coaching programs to help teams get the most out of the tools and processes.Working closely with Digital and IT teams will be part of your role, helping implement smooth support models and system integrations that keep everything running efficiently.You’ll manage assurance and audit activities related to investment decisions, making sure everything is traceable and meets regulatory standards.Finally, a full UK driver’s licence is essential, as the role requires travel to the Central Belt 2-3 times per week.Looking out for youWhile the work we do is important, we know it’s not the only thing that matters. If you’re new to Scottish Water, you’ll join us on a starting salary of £66,826.
